The False Challenge of Ed and Elaine Brown

Ed and Elaine Brown have offered $1,000,000 to whoever can show them the law that requires them to pay taxes. That law is, of course, Section 1 of the tax code but Ed and Elaine will never admit that.

Instead, the challenge by Ed and Elaine Brown is totally illusory since they don't even have $1,000,000 to put up! They are offering their home and Elaine's office building, but these are going to be sold to pay their back tax liability anyway. This is like offering a "challenge" where the prize is a barn that is already on fire -- it is not worth anything.
